Purina PRO PLAN Veterinary Diets Diabetes Management Chicken Wet Cat Food Pouches is a complete diet feed for adult cats with diabetes mellitus. It helps with the regulation of glucose supply using low levels of rapid glucose releasing carbohydrates.
The recipe has been specially adapted to help regulate blood glucose (sugar) levels in diabetic cats. It contains very low levels of carbohydrate to decrease the upsurge in blood glucose that happens after meals. The high levels of protein help stimulate the release of insulin from the pancreas.
Purina PRO PLAN Veterinary Diets Diabetes Management Chicken Wet Cat Food Pouches have been shown to reduce insulin requirements in some diabetic cats. They are rich in the antioxidant vitamin E which stabilises the free radicals that are produced with diabetes. This food is not suitable for pregnant cats, kittens, or cats that need a low protein diet such as those with kidney failure or some types of liver disease.
See detailed lining on the back of the bag. Adjust the amount according to the animal’s individual nutritional needs. Factors such as breed, activity level, and life stage should be taken into account when calculating the required daily amount.
